Hi everyone, I’m Laura, I’m 27 years old and I’m Italian. I took part in the project " I’m Sport Volunteer " in Sivas, Turkey. I would like sincerely to thank the Italian and Turkish coordinators and the European Union for allowing me to have this wonderful experience that has really changed me in many aspects of my life. During this volunteering I had the opportunity to immerse myself in Turkish culture, to meet new people of my age but coming from socio-cultural contexts different from mine. If I had not had this opportunity, I could never have discovered the true Turkish culture so thoroughly. It was a very enriching experience, I did many sports activities all together and it was a way also to improve our social benefits. 

We did some cycling, hiking, yoga/ fitness workshops and we had many opportunities to discuss current issues. This also allowed me to improve my English, gain much more confidence in myself and improve my self-esteem. I also got to do some Turkish lessons and the teacher was really good! I was also able to deepen the religious aspect and understand the differences between Italy and Turkey.
