Eren TAŞDANBLOG

Hello friends!
I am Eren TAŞDAN, Sorgun Youth Association, which I have had the opportunity to take part in its activities and various volunteering projects for more than a year, this time with the project opportunity called "Sports Volunteer" and I had the opportunity to become a project volunteer.

The most striking part of the project was that it offered a common space for Italian volunteers and Turkish volunteers and created a good team environment here. Thus, taking part in team work with different volunteers who have different cultures and speak a different language was aimed to contribute even more to the people involved in the project. Being able to take part in sports activities together with the volunteers in the project also prioritised sportive development.

Firstly, being in such a nice project and meeting people from different cultures and taking part in activities with them was a nice experience. On the other hand, the main concept that impressed me the most was to see the unifying power of sports. This project basically taught me how much unifying power sport has. It clearly showed me how cultural differences are a great richness. Within the scope of the project, activities related to many sports fields were organised.

The most important of these were volleyball, badminton, bocce and swimming. As English was spoken throughout the project and English courses were organised as part of the activities, I noticed a significant improvement in my English level. Through our Italian volunteers, I developed an interest in Italian and realised that I could speak this language at an introductory level. I contributed to the project by editing the videos within the project.

To summarise; this project contributed a lot to my personal development. It enabled us to spend fun and instructive times in sports activities and to get to know new cultures and new people. Thanks to the powerful project offered by Sorgun Youth Association; "Sports Volunteer", while there were positive changes in my life; I once again realised how important it is to get to know new people and discover new cultures. I would like to thank Sorgun Youth Association for this.
